As the capital of Scotland and one of Britain’s most beautiful cities, Edinburgh, with a population of 400,000, has much to attract its visitors. Divided into the Old Town and the New Town, the city is a modern cultural centre which also offers a unique view of Scotland’s historic past. The Royal Mile offers excellent shopping and the many cafes and bars help to create a vibrant nightlife. In contrast to all this the city boasts a great deal of splendid Georgian architecture, royal palaces and its most famous landmark, the castle, all situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Students will be taught at the Merchiston Campus of Napier University, a 20-minute walk or 5-minute bus ride from the accommodation. After lessons, students will have hot lunch at Merchiston and then take a public bus back to the city centre for their afternoon ‘Discover Edinburgh’ programme. All students will be provided with a weekly Travel Card.
