Job Description – Teacher 1 at STS-Interway centres
Responsible to: The STS-Interway Co-ordinator.
Responsible for: Implementing the academic programme; implementing the activity programme through either checking coach and venue bookings or accompanying the students on activities and excursions.
Hours: start 0845, finish 1500.
Main Duties:
- To teach 17.5 hours per week, from 0900 to 1100, and from 1130 to 1300 every weekday morning.
- To attend a training day prior to the start of the course, and to hold staff meetings for teachers during the course as necessary.
- To ensure that students adhere to the code of conduct laid down by the company.
- To report any incidents of student misbehaviour to the leaders responsible.
- To organise testing for students on arrival, the marking of tests and the efficient placing of students into classes based on test results.
- To allocate teachers to classes, ensuring that teachers are rotated in such a way that every class has a different teacher for the second half of the morning.
- To regularly liaise with the STS-Interway Co-ordinator, and with the on-site staff whenever necessary.
- To check that venue and coach bookings have all been made 24 hours in advance, and to take appropriate action wherever necessary.
- To keep accurate records of lateness/absenteeism among teachers, and to take the necessary action when teachers are absent or late.
- To keep accurate records of the hours worked by teachers, and to ensure that timesheets are completed accurately before authorising for payment.
- To ensure that all students are presented with a certificate of attendance/ achievement (correctly completed) before they leave.
- To liaise with the Local Agent and group leaders on all issues of student welfare/behaviour.
Pay
The salary for all of the above posts is £200 per week, or £225 per week for returning staff.
