Directions to University of Westminster Harrow campus:

Take the Metropolitan line to Northwick Park. When you come out of the tube station turn left and through the tunnel under the railway line; you will come out at the bottom of the campus. Walk up the path past the halls of residence. When you come to the main building you have to bear around to the right to get to the main entrance. Once inside turn right and walk up to the lifts; A3.15 is on the third floor.

Teacher Training for Summer School Teachers

 

Welcome to the Teacher Training area of the website.

In this section we provide the theoretical part of our teacher training course and also some general information about the EFL industry.

We employ people from a range of different backgrounds on our summer courses: some have a number of years TEFL experience, others have only recently completed a TEFL course and are looking for their first job; some have not worked with teenagers before, others are qualified secondary school teachers who have not taught EFL before.

Experience has shown that the more training we provide the better our courses are, so we are constantly trying to improve what we do in this area. Besides these theoretical training courses we also hold a number of training days and all teachers are expected to attend one of these. Locations and dates for these will be posted on this website under latest news some time after Easter.

There are two training courses available; the first is the general Introduction to TEFL Course, and, as the name suggests, is aimed at those who are new to TEFL. The second is the Teacher Training 2005 Course, which is specifically linked to our summer courses and is aimed at those who already hold a CELTA or equivalent qualification. Both these courses can be accessed with a password and downloaded once you have accepted a teaching position with LSC.
